Visitation Renovation - RCDC I&II
Pecos, Texas
A new visit lobby located at the south end of the facility, closest to the public access, was constructed for visitors to be processed before entering into the facility. After visitor processing, they are redirected through the metal detector to the visitation building.
Situated in the Southwest corner of the campus, the existing dayroom building was renovated to be the new visitation building for the entire RCDC I & II facility. The design allows for contact and non-contact visitation and video arrangement within the facility. By not transporting inmates for court hearings, the county saves money and adds a level of security. For required hearings, LMD Architects designed the space to also act as an inmate video teleconferencing/legal hearings space. Offices for attorney visitation, staff support, and a large staff multipurpose meeting room were also added. For the contact visit, an area was designed for small children to play and interact. |
